At Fisher More High School we believe in student leadership, allowing our students an opportunity to have a voice in how we run our school and this is embedded within the ethos of the school. The school has two active councils, where all representatives are democratically elected. Members of the year council, who are also form ambassadors, meet with their Pupil Progress leader every half term. Two representatives from the Year group are elected onto the Student Council, which meet termly as well as feeding back to Senior Management and Governors.
Students are encouraged to take an active role in discussing teaching and learning as well as initiatives and projects that help with the progress of the school.
We were delighted to welcome Lyle Davy back to the school. Lyle is a former student who is the youngest elected councillor in Europe. Lyle spoke to the year 7 council about the responsibilities of representing a group of people and discussed the qualities that are required to do the job.
The students have made an exceptional start in their first term in office and have suggested and overseen a number of initiatives all ready.
