All New Menus!
Over the past few weeks we have been working on improving the overall standard of catering at school and specifically the menu selection for our pupils. We have recognised the need to update the service level and have taken steps to do so. We are delighted to now present for your information our new menus, which will be offered to our pupils from Monday 19 November 2018 on a three week rotation.
Whilst the menu is based around freshly prepared, cooked and served dishes we have taken into account a number of key influences such as dietary requirements, vegetarian options, allergens, inclusion of halal produce, seasonality, affordability, availability and choice.
We are introducing a range of dishes allowing pupils to choose between traditional main meals and meal deal combinations to the more 'street smart' grab and go choices allowing for all tastes and expectations to be met. We will always cater for those wishing to sit and enjoy a main meal but equally we will offer choices for those who choose to participate in lunchtime activities or just want to have a 'snack on the move'.
We hope that you recognise the inclusion of fresh fruits, topped yoghurts, salad pots and of course delicious home baked treats.
There are pastas with fresh toppings, baked potatoes with a range of fillings, traditional main dishes, a wide range of freshly made bread products and we are introducing regular themed events where tasty and exciting dishes will be offered reflective of a special event or date in our school calendar.
Affordability is vitally important and we hope that you approve of the move away from fixed pricing to varied tariff allowing pupils to make informed decisions before buying and ensuring best value.
We have taken into account the views and wishes of our pupils, we have considered carefully the feedback from parents, we have consulted with our own staff here at school and most importantly we have taken action.
We at school are very excited with the planned changes and hope the new menus and varied pricing will encourage our pupils to use the services. We hope too that parents will feel reassured that we take the views of all seriously and are committed to providing the very best service possible.
