Ski Trip Information Evening

Monday 28 November, 2016 at 6.30pm.

With only five months to go until our ski trip departure, we are reaching a busy time in terms of organisation and finalising of details.  With this in mind, I would like to give you advanced warning of an evening meeting at Fisher More on Monday 28 November, 2016 at 6.30pm.  The meeting is for both pupils and their parents/carers.  It is important that your child is represented at this meeting as key information will be given out and also collected on the evening.

As on previous occasions, we would request that pupils’ passports and EHICs (European Health Insurance Card) are brought to the meeting to be checked or collected.  Passports must be valid for 6 months after the date of travel.  This would mean for travel at Easter 2017 they must not expire before the end of October 2017.  We are aware that some pupils may require their documents prior to March 2017, therefore we understand if it is not possible to collect them in at this stage.  Your child will need both of these documents for the trip and to avoid delays we strongly advise you to apply as soon as possible if they do not already have them.  Application forms for the EHIC are available from the Post Office, or alternatively the card can be ordered through an online application at https://www.ehic.org.uk/ or by phone (call 0845 606 2030).  Passport applications can be made via a form from the Post Office, or by direct online application at: http://www.passport.gov.uk/passport_child.asp.

On the evening we will also be organising for medical documentation to be filled in, along with various other permission slips, which will be explained on the night.

A representative of Gaz’s Outdoor Warehouse in Burnley will be in attendance on the evening.  Ski clothing and accessories can be expensive but hiring good quality clothing is a very economical alternative.  You will be able to see examples of the clothing and accessories and, if you wish, order or purchase on the night, or take away a brochure and application form.

Ski Trip hoodies will be available to order on the evening (and will be modelled by members of the ski trip staff).  The price will be £20 and we ask that payment is made when placing the order on the night.

Information about ski lessons in January 2017 at Pendle Ski Club will also be released on the evening.

Please complete the reply slip below and return it to the school office to confirm your attendance at the meeting.  If you do have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me either by phone or email.

Yours faithfully
