Arrangements for After Half Term

27th May 2020

Dear Parents and Carers

I hope you have all remained safe and well.

I am writing ahead of the next half term to inform you of our return on Monday 1st June 2020.

This reopening of Fisher More is for vulnerable pupils and the children of key workers, so we look forward to welcoming back pupils who have been regularly attending school over the last couple of months.  If you are a key worker parent now returning to work and would like your child to attend school, who had not previously done so, please do not just send them in on 1st June,  I ask you to contact school first so we can talk to you about your child’s planned return to school.  The phone lines are manned 9am to 2.30pm each day so there will be someone in school to take your call.  We need to know this information by Thursday of this week at the latest so that all aspects of social distancing and other recommendations are in place in school to safeguard both staff and pupils and minimise the risk of infection.

Some of you will be parents of Year 10 pupils and may be wondering how the school is going to open on 15th June 2020 for your children.  As announced by the government, from that date we will be offering face to face support by teachers to pupils in small groups to support their remote learning. The arrangements for Year 10 pupils will be published on the school website, Facebook etc. by the end of next week.  Currently, we are rearranging classrooms and other spaces to ensure social distancing measures are in place in readiness for their return.  We hope that you will feel confident in sending your children back to school under the current circumstances but fully understand if you are reluctant to do so for whatever reason.  If you have any worries, concerns or questions about your child returning, please do not hesitate to contact Mr Walmsley or Mr Flynn who will be more than happy respond to them:

walmsley.j@fishermore.lancs.sch.uk

flynn.n@fishermore.lancs.sch.uk.

I thank you for your continued support of the school, your child’s learning and for your patience and forbearance over the last few months.  We look forward to different times ahead when we will be welcoming back all members of the Fisher More family once again, all safe and well.

Yours faithfully

Ms Hayes
