Letter to Year 10 Parents and Carers
4 June 2020
Dear Parents/Carers
I am writing to outline the arrangements we have put into place to provide some face to face support for Year 10 pupils from Monday 15 June 2020.
The year group will be split into 4 groups of approximately 36 pupils. Each group will be divided into 3 groups of 12 to allow for all aspects of social distancing in the classrooms to be in place.
During week commencing 8 June 2020 we will send out a Groupcall message to inform you which group your children has been placed in.
Group 1 will be in school on Mondays
Group 2 will be in school on Tuesdays
Group 3 will be in school on Wednesdays
Group 4 will be in school on Thursdays
We have decided to focus our sessions on the core subject areas of English, maths, science and RE:
Week beginning 15 June 2020 – English
Week beginning 22 June 2020 – Maths
Week beginning 29 June 2020 – Science
Week beginning 6 July 2020 – RE
Further details for the last week of term will be sent out later this half term.
The daily sessions will be 9.30am to 10.50am, break until 11.10am and then a further session 11.20am until 12.30pm. Your child will be in the same room with the same member of staff for both sessions.
Pastoral support for pupils will be provided on Fridays. The pupils involved will be contacted in advance by Mr Flynn or Mr Walmsley.
As parents, you may well be anxious or concerned about sending your child back into school and we understand that this may be the case. To reassure you, we have put into place all the recommendations to minimise the risk of infection. We ask you, therefore, to encourage your children to return to school in order to access vital support to their learning ahead of the summer holidays.
As always, if you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to email myself, Mr Walmsley or Mr Flynn. We thank you for you continued support of the school and your child’s learning.
Stay safe and well.
Yours faithfully
Ms C Hayes
Headteacher
