Year 6 Transition Plan

To all Year 6 Pupils and Parents

This year at Fisher More we aim to make the transition process as exciting and informative as always for our Year 6 pupils. Below is a 4 week plan for transition for June/July 2020.  Each week has a different focus for all those involved in the transition process.

Week beginning 22 June 2020 – Transition Week Plan for Pupils and Primary Staff

During this week we will be uploading information that Year 6 can use both at home and within class.  We hope that you find these resources useful and they help to give you an insight into what to expect when you arrive at Fisher More in September. The uploads are detailed below:

  • Monday 22 June 2020 – 'Welcome Letter to Year 6' from Mr Crabtree, Director of Progress for Years 6 and 7
  • Tuesday 23 June 2020 – 'Welcome Letter to Year 6' from current Year 7 pupils
  • Wednesday 24 June 2020 – Mr Crabtree’s 'Preparing for Fisher More' Power Point presentation
  • Thursday 25 June 2020 – Zoom sessions, day 1
  • Friday 26 June 2020 – Zoom sessions day 2

Times for the Zoom sessions are being arranged with the individual primary schools.  They are an opportunity for pupils to ask the pastoral team at Fisher More any questions about what to expect when they arrive at Fisher More in September.

Week beginning 29 June 2020 – Transition Plan – Parental Focus

We have recently organised a virtual tour of the school to be filmed and uploaded to the school website.  This will give you the opportunity to take your own personal tour of Fisher More and get to know the building and various classrooms.  The virtual tour of the school will become live on the school website during this week.

We will also be offering an opportunity for parents to join in a virtual information evening.  During the evening Mr Crabtree and Mr Swarbrick will be available to talk parents through the plan for pupils joining us in September.  A code will be sent out to all schools and shared with parents to allow them to join the Zoom session.

  • Thursday 2 July 2020 – Zoom Parent Information Evening 4pm - 5pm

Week beginning 6 July 2020 for two weeks – Transition Plan – Contact from Pastoral Team Members

During this two week period, pastoral team members from Fisher More will be in contact with parents and pupils to introduce themselves before meeting in September.

We really look forward to welcoming Year 6 this year and will do all we can to make the transition process as exciting and informative as always.  If you have any questions or queries please feel free to contact me at school:  crabtree.s@fishermore.lancs.sch.uk

Yours faithfully

Mr S Crabtree

Director of Progress Years 6 and  7
