Let all our bright
colours shine.

ALL NEW - Colne Youth Action Group

Over the last few months Mr Walmsley has been working with Colne District Councillors and other Public Sector Partners in establishing the CYAG.  This is a local charitable organisation aiming to reduce anti-social behaviour in Colne amongst 11-16 year olds by establishing positive activities for young people who live in Colne to join and get involved in.  It is early days and aims to increase a variety of activities for children to participate after school.  The activities are free but the children must join through membership of £3 per year.

The 3 initial activities on offer include:

  1. Football with Burnley FC in the Community every Wednesday at 5 pm on King George V Playing field MUGA off Skipton Road – just turn up and play
  2. From 26th April: Biking with Go Velo (mountain, BMX & bike maintenance) at 5.30 p.m., every Monday – you cannot just pitch up for these sessions, as there are strict staff ratios and medical considerations, so you must register in advance for the sessions AND be a member of CYAG.

  3. From 5th May Horticulture at the Open Gate Community Garden (off Castle Road, at the very top of the King George V Playing Field) every Wednesday at 5 pm – here you can learn about growing flowers and vegetables and get to take what you grow home with you

More activities are planned
