Changes to the school day - IMPORTANT 28th JUNE 2021
28 June 2021
Dear Parents and Carers
As a direct result of increasing numbers of Covid-19 cases in both staff and students and the need for others to self-isolate, I am writing to outline changes to the way the school needs to operate from tomorrow onward until the end of term.
They are as follows:
- Monday and Tuesday – Years 8 and 9 (old Years 7 and 8) only in school. Years 10, 11 (old Year 9 and 10) remote learning at home.
- Wednesday, Thursday and Friday – Years 10 and 11 (old Year 9 and 10) only in school. Years 8 and 9(old Years 7 and 8) remote learning at home.
When children are based at home, work will be available through Synergy set by their class teacher. This will include recorded lessons to support their learning. All students will be given an exercise book today to take home so they can complete the set work.
It is really important the lateral flow testing continues both at home and in school. As the year groups’ attendance goes across the week, we will only be able to do one of the tests on site here. It is vital, therefore, for the other test to be done at home with the results uploaded to NHS ‘Test and Trace’. If you or any of your family are awaiting PCR test results or are displaying any of the current symptoms for the Delta variant, please keep your child at home until you receive the results. If you have any questions/queries about what you should do, please do not hesitate to contact the school for advice: firstname.lastname@example.org – link on school website.
Lunch will be provided as normal but there will be no breaktime provision to minimise contact between year group bubbles.
It is really important that the concept of ‘Hands, Face, Space’ is emphasised once again with the children, in order to keep all members of the Fisher More family safe.
If I need to make any further changes over the next three weeks, I will let you know as soon as possible so you can make any necessary arrangements.
Stay safe and well.
Ms C Hayes
