At Fisher More RC High School, we have a calendared plan of assemblies with a specific theme based on the liturgical calendar.
Assemblies are held weekly for each Year Group (7-11). Most assemblies are held by the Pastoral Leader and their team of form teachers. Led by the Headteacher, Ms Hayes, members of the Senor Leadership Team also contribute to the assembly rota at specified parts of the school year.
We feel it is important for our pupils to take part in opportunities for collective worship and to bear witness to their faith. For this reason, pupils also lead assemblies at this school. Each form is asked to prepare and deliver an assembly to their peers. We have dedicated groups within the school community that will address all year groups, including our Growing In Faith Together (GIFT) Team.
Rewarding the achievements of our pupils is also important to us. For that reason, each term there is a rewards assembly for each year group that will recognise the hard work, effort and achievement of our wonderful young people.
Occasionally, guest speakers are invited into school to address topical local or international issues. One group that regularly visits our school each year is the Gideon Society who distribute a Bible to each Year 7 pupil when they start the Fisher More journey.
At certain times during the year, particularly during examination periods, the drama studio is being used. At these times, collective worship will take place in the form rooms, led by the form teacher. A weekly, topical bulletin is provided to support our collective worship throughout the year.
