GCSE 9-1 (OCR) www.OCR.org.uk/drama

30% practical and 70% theory

In Year 10 of the GCSE course, pupils work towards refining the skills learnt at KS3 and acquiring new skills to fulfil the demands of the course. Although the course is heavily weighted towards theory, this is delivered through practical exploration as well as developing written skills.

In Year 11 pupils begin finalising assessed performances and this will require rehearsal time outside of the classroom.

During Year 10 and 11 the GCSE Drama pupils will make several trips to the theatre to support their studies. The department also runs an annual residential trip to Wales, working with industry professionals.
