Key Stage 4 Intervention
These sessions will take place after school 3pm – 4pm
At this moment in time, Year 11 pupils will be sitting external examinations in Summer 2020. Currently, the only changes to the normal GCSE and BTEC examinations are changes to syllabus/content in subjects and an altered examination timetable (most examinations starting at the beginning of June 2021).
The after school sessions will be an opportunity for staff to work and intervene with Year 11 pupils who need to fill gaps in knowledge and additional support for various reasons leading up to their class assessments, mock examinations and their examinations in Summer 2021. It will also allow staff to support and fill the gaps in knowledge of Year 10 pupils who have been absent from school for various reasons at the start of their GCSE courses, require additional support to keep them on track or even be used as a strategy for pre-empting Year 10 pupils falling behind for various reasons.
There will be a two-week timetable for both Year 10 & 11, starting week commencing 9th November 2020. This will allow the progress leader, subject leaders and subject teachers to decide which pupils will be required to attend the after school sessions and have the opportunity to contact home.
