10 September 2020
Since you agreed to fund you child on the school ski trip, a lot has happened locally, nationally and internationally as a result of COVID-19. By writing to you, I hope to both reassure and clarify our current position with respect to this very popular and successful school trip.
At the moment, the government is recommending that only local and overnight school trips in this country should take place. It is advising against international trips. The guidance the school receives from the Department for Education is changing constantly in line with the dynamic and ever-changing situation we find ourselves in. We expect this trip to go ahead at Easter 2021, as we have not heard anything to the contrary. Therefore, we would ask you to continue to make your payments as outlined in the original letter. The only reason the trip would be cancelled is if the ski company received guidance from the Home Office. In that case, monies would be refunded.
The September payment is now due, with the next one due on 6 November 2020. You will receive a Group Call text to remind you of this date.
If you have any queries or concerns about the trip, payment schedule or any other matter, please do not hesitate to contact Mr Atkin email@example.com who will answer or advise as necessary.
We look forward to a life beyond COVID-19; this trip will hopefully herald a major step toward the normality we have come to value.
Ms C Hayes
